A hospital floor must be seamless, antibacterial, low-VOC, easy to disinfect, and — for OT and MRI — electrostatically conductive. We deliver to DHA, MOH UAE, MOPH Qatar and JCI accreditation standards.
System spec by clinical zone
| Zone | System | Special features |
|---|---|---|
| OT & ICU | 3 mm conductive ESD epoxy | 10⁴–10⁶ Ω, copper grounding strips, ISO 14644 |
| MRI & imaging | 3 mm conductive ESD epoxy | Iron-free pigment for MRI compatibility |
| Wards & corridors | 2 mm antibacterial epoxy | Silver-ion additive, integral coving |
| Pharmacy & lab | 3 mm chemical-resistant epoxy | Acid & reagent resistant |
| Pharma cleanroom | 3 mm low-VOC PU | EU GMP grade, ISO 14644 |
| Sterile services dept (CSSD) | 4 mm PU mortar | Steam wash 80°C, antibacterial |
| Reception / OPD | 1.5 mm decorative epoxy | Branded colours, easy clean |
| Kitchen / pantry | 6 mm PU mortar | HACCP, slip-rated, coved |
What sets a hospital-grade resin floor apart
Antibacterial silver-ion additive
Embedded in resin (not a topical layer), reduces surface bacterial growth by 99%+ in 24 hours per ISO 22196. Effective for the floor's full life — typically 10–15 years.
Integral coving
100 mm radius cove fillet at every wall-floor junction. No 90° corner = no dirt or microbe harbour. Mandatory for OT and pharma; best practice for ward floors.
Low-VOC formulation
Solvent-free epoxy and PU systems with VOC content below 30 g/L. Lets us re-floor occupied wings without evacuation.
Conductive grounding
For OT and MRI: copper grounding strips at 6 m centres, bonded to building earth. Stamped resistivity test report at hand-over.
Re-flooring an occupied hospital — how it works
- Negative-pressure containment around the work zone
- Low-VOC, low-odour systems chosen for occupied wings
- Weekend / night phasing, ward by ward
- Fast-cure PMMA where 4-hr return needed (OT cleanroom)
- Daily handover — clean, certified, ready for use the next morning
Recent project: 6,000 sqm hospital wing in Abu Dhabi re-floored over 8 weekends with no ward closure and zero complaints.
The hospital floor is the most-touched surface in the building. Specify it like the most important hygiene line.
