For a Gulf 3PL warehouse with hard-wheel forklifts we typically specify a 3–4 mm self-levelling epoxy on a primed, ground concrete substrate. Lighter pick-and-pack zones can run at 2 mm; heavy axle and pallet impact zones go to 5–6 mm or move to a PU mortar.
Standard epoxy will amber where direct sunlight hits — that's why we always finish exterior-facing or skylit areas with a UV-stable polyurethane top coat. Internal warehouse and factory areas are unaffected.
Old coatings and tiles are removed by mechanical preparation before any new resin goes down. Skipping this is the single biggest cause of epoxy failure in the Gulf.
Plain gloss epoxy is slick when wet. We add quartz or aluminium-oxide broadcast for any ramp, wash-bay or food area to give an R10–R11 slip rating.
